Last night we came up with the addition of 2 new entering Apprentice Masons in our lodge. As in previous years this time, the son of a brethren (52 years old, 25 of them as a mason, current member of the board), was incorporated in the order. It was shocking to see how, throughout the ceremony, the young apprentice of 24 years, twice in body humanity as its parent, was guided by him during the whole ceremony. "Although I felt the adrenaline throughout my body, I felt safe because it was my own father who guided me", said later the young apprentice. In these circumstances, the words are not enough. You must have seen the ceremony to apprehend a show so exciting.
One wonders what must have happened in the minds of this father-son pairing to determine their incorporation into the masonry. Although I can not know the particulars of such decision, I can however make a hypothesis about it. In the eyes of those involved, the Masonry should convey something intrinsically valuable to theirs members through their practices, rituals and doctrine. As in ethics valuable is synonymous of good, then the decision to enter the masonry in this case should be based on a certain perception that in masonry are formed good and superior men, apt to help their brethren, their society and the world.

APRENDICES MASONES
